  I am an Air Force vet and having said that, I have lived in some DOOZY of places with some of the worst office management imaginable, but UPA takes the cake.
  The office manager Elizabeth (Liz) Webb is the absolute most incompetent manager I have ever dealt with and worst of all she lies. When I first moved in, she told me that I would always be able to get in contact with her via email since it was synched to her phone... Twice I had to call her boss to track her down to get something critical taken care of in my house. She also told me that emergency maintenance would be able to fix the cooling/heating unit but my son (6 at the time) and I spent the snow months WITHOUT heat; we were told that not having heat isn't an emergency, even with the child present.
  The same happened in the summer where the house reach 90 degrees because there was hole in the hose... Again we were told that emergency maintenance could fix it, only to be later told that it wasn't an emergency as 90 degrees didn't constitute an emergency.
  I have been harassed by UPA and Liz for MONTHS about porch chairs I bought and they went the route of threatening me with eviction if I didn't move the chairs, which according to the terms of the lease (the same section these fools quoted) I was allowed to have since what I have is outdoor furniture. in trying to deal with the situation, I haven't been called back, had messages returned nor been able to get in contact with anyone from UPA to deal the situation. I had to fight Liz to get a new lease when my original one was up and her way of handling it was to tape the legally binding document to my door instead of mailing it to me. They also told me that the lease was going up, but according to the lease I signed, the renewal cost was to remain the same.
  In closing, if you can, avoid renting through this company and especially the College Square Duplexes on College Dr in suffolk
